I see what you are saying. But I could still see a tractor sliding sideways if it wasn't pretty much perfectly straight.

I thought that too my first time there, but theres also a rub rail on either side. Its a 6" steel pipe. Sometimes Im a little crooked when I bump the dock but youve only got maybe 3 inches on either side when you're centered. Thats not enough to hurt anything.
