Not a great president but one helluva human being. Truly, I admire the man.

Ever been to Chester IL? That's the home of Seegar, the creator of Popeye.

Definitely not one of the best Presidents we have had, but he has definitely been the best EX-President in history. I say this despite the fact that I disagree with him on many issues. But an admirable man nevertheless.

He did a lot of good in Africa. He'll always be remembered here in west Africa for his role in helping to eradicate the Guinea worm.

I think most people are aware of he and his wife's work in the Habitat for Humanity projects?

Some pics from my drive on Sunday. Went down through Big Sur where I took pics of the Bixby Creek Bridge (my grandfather engineered the construction of this bridge and other projects on Highway 1) Condors- or as we hunters call them "lead magnets" and some other cool sights. And the elephant seals down by Cambria and then inland to Highway 5 through the California Valley (antelope pics).

I have a few other pics I took.

His Mom, Lillian Carter, wrote a great book called "Away from Home: Letters to My Family". It was about her experiences in the Peace Corp as an elderly volunteer. And Lillian, his wife, was big on helping the mentally ill. The are very admirable people. I kind of feel bad when people bash Jimmy Carter.

I love the pictures of the sea lions. I wish I could walk amongst them without scaring them all off.

I don't know.......ask him. As long as I don't bring one home, I think he'd be okay with it.
