Hmm......it seems like you might have been in a car parts store when I was trying to buy a part.

How's your truck doing?

Still broken and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about it. I'd really like to put a new engine in it I just don't have time or money for that. but I definitely don't have the money for a new car either. I may end up just rebuilding the top end again.

See? I knew those awesome mechanical skills would come up sooner or later.

Couldn't remember the name of the town. We were just up there last summer.

In this case, the handful of parts was once a compression release.
Retrieving the broken parts confirmed my hard starting theory.

All of the broken parts were removed.

I drilled and tapped for a small coverplate and put the 'knocked out' piece back in with JBWeld.

Although it remains hard starting, it is working fine.

I should problably get the parts and crack the case again, but the task is not as rewarding as it could be.

Now it may be just a guess on my part, but I think I can see why it's hard starting.

I agree the cars from the past have so much more style and character compared to the cars of today.
Showing my age here,
I remember all those old hot rods on the streets from the 60s,70s,and some 50s racing up and down the strip all night long,it was quite a show for us kids back then since we didn't have the internet lol

Haha Nothing like the big fins they were boss!!
