I want either less corruption or more opportunity to participate in it.

Anna - I want to be you when I grow up. Need someone to lug your stuff around?

I almost hate this thread. So many great places to see and not enough time or money. Fortunately I've been able to travel the world quite a bit, but there's just so much of it to see.

I saw someone mention they had been stung (Looks to be a bark scorpion) and had no ill effects. They were lucky.
So another old paramedic story that was told to me by a crew after dropping someone off at the ER many years ago. Guy was unpacking a crate in a warehouse in the Chicago suburbs on a shipment from Arizona. Felt an incredibly painful sting and turns out it was a hitchhiker - scorpion. They either didn't catch it or killed it but didn't bring it in. So the ER calls Brookfield or Lincoln Park Zoo to get the 'scorpion department.' Zoo asks how long ago he was stung, and say about 20 minutes ago. The reply was something like 'if he's still alive, then he should be fine.' I guess they sent up some antivenom up to the ER. Don't know if the story is exactly factual, but one of the greatest answers to pass along to a patient.

I definitely need someone to lug my stuff around. Do you also move couches, and take out the trash when asked upon?

Used to move couches around, then I found the perfect set up. They're too heavy for the wife to move .
I have 14-year old slave laborer, I mean a child to take out the trash.
Yep, living like royalty in the 'burbs.

(I gotta get out of here!!! )

Best vacation ever was four of us guys in the boundary waters in Canada - Quetico Provincial Park. Canoed over to Canadian customs and then took off and spent a good 12 days or so living off the land on a pack it in/pack it out trip. Lots of great fishing and wildlife, cut off from everything. THAT was living!
