Isn't it usually a bad thing for a boat to be lying on its side?

Listing, boats list to the side . And as long as you don't believe the boat's in danger, you should be fine

Actually at the point in KY's picture wouldn't it be considered capsized?

Depends, I remember a couple times at sea having to take a couple steps on the bulkhead to maintain a straight line. He could just be having one of those days.

Was lucky to never have to walk on a bulkhead when we were at sea I did have a hammock in the radar room of our ship that I slept in when we were at sea and I awoke a couple of times at some really strange angles to the deck and bulkheads!

Slept in radar 3 on my boat for a year on a half inch thick piece of egg crate foam to correct a back problem created by the rack mattress. I know what you're talking about. Was woke up many time sliding across the space.

Not sure why that posted sideways! No list here gentleman! Just a sideways personality lmao. Ive been close to that on a harbor tug, faced sideways against the current on a shallow deck boat. I jumped into a barge quick when the water came pouring on!
