Sighting systems similar to many ARs. LER scope or red dot, flip up back ups. BUT... I like minimal to no rails. Personal preference.

And, in my mind, I'm looking at 90% or greater internal parts interchangeability with a standard 1911.
Sorry it took awhile, we had a flooding issue we had to take care of (in the cold, POURING rain), then I got a call to go pick up my new (to me) shotgun.

Is this what you pictured? Its definitely different. I'd definitely buy one. It looks pretty cool.

As for the complete takedown or folding stock thing, I've never cared for the folding stocks. They've always just looks weird and uncomfortable to me. I like collapsible stocks, but I think a complete takedown option would be good for this kind of gun. It wouldn't be too hard to design it so that the barrel comes off like on the old takedown rifles.

Also, I'm not the best at GIMP (basically a free photoshop like program), but you get the idea. I think it would look better with a longer barrel though. (the stock could be made a little differently too)

I have some dreams, too. Can you make them real? Most include Brooke Shields and barbecue sauce.

I knew the Cuda because a friend of mine in high school had one. The other, all I could tell was that it was a Cadillac.

Tex, that's close enough to what I had in mind to get an idea of where to start.

After looking at it, and thinking about it...may have to scrap the idea of it being pretty much a 1911 carbine. I don't know about it looking like a pistol stuck in a rifle format.

Maybe switch around to a curved grip and forward mag well?

I don't know. Nothing but time to work on it and dream.

Ya know, I would just be tickled pink with a Ruger 10/.45. That's not much different than the camp carbine.

I don't know where the hell to go with the idea.

It being purely a 1911 rifle could be problematic. It's a good start though. I'll have to mess around with it more.
