I starved a tick a few years ago, it was a prego female. I was smart enough to put in a pickle jar. Lots of little ones. I thought maybe they would cannibalize and one would win, growing big, but they stayed in a group and died.

I have wondered about the life cycles of ticks. Not enough to actually try and find out an more, but I have wondered. I hate ticks. But I don't go all girly over them.

Ticks are evil little things.

I don't know much about the life cycle, but I do know a tick is blind and deaf, and can lay in a dormant (kinda like sleeping) state for 16 years.
They are "activated" by carbon dioxide (what we exhale).
How it can do this, I have no idea, but it's absolutely evil.

Oh yeah, they're also a type of arachnid (the spider family).

Cushman Eagle? My brother had one of those. Neat little bikes. Attached is a pic of one I snapped at Barbers Motorsports Museum last year.

That wasn't a spider, here's a couple of pet ones from the Sandbox.
Now these are spiders.

Eeeek. I'd shoot that thing and run. You can make a horror flick with that thing and not spend a crap load of money.
