it is a brake disc and caliper. the disc turns with the wheels, and the calipers stay put with the suspension. when force is applied on the brake pedal, the calipers squeeze on the disc, stopping the car. you can look through the holes in the wheels on some cars, and see both.

This is the remains of a disc brake system and based on the look of the pads will also require a new rotor.

21 days??? Dayum! My son was 11 lb 7 oz at birth. He was above the 100th percentile on height and weight through the first year. We used to say he was born 3 months old, cause the point they plotted on his height and weight charts were nearly 3 months to the left of normal!!! When we made him start feeding himself, he turned into a beanpole...

Wow. I thought my nephew at just under 10 lbs at birth was big. We said the same about my nephew, that he was born at 3 months of age. He's already wearing clothe for a 4 month old.
