Went to the GF's family reunion about an hour from Yosemite, we couldn't NOT take the kid to the park so we swung through on the way home.

img_20130428_125719_476.jpg

Bridal Veil Falls. The Indians believed breathing the mist from the fall was like catching the bouquet at a wedding. Explains why the little lady insisted we see that one first...

img_20130428_130844_703.jpg

The kid backed by... Yosemite Fall? I think.

img_20130428_130546_054.jpg

Pretty sure this is Yosemite Fall

img_20130428_131427_017.jpg

Too crowded at the scenic platform below Bridal Veil Falls. We went down the trail a little further and took an... "alternative" trail where we could get some more space to breathe and take pics.

img_20130428_131818_896.jpg

Our little rocky outcrop. Much closer to the base than that "official" spot.

img_20130428_131830_941.jpg

Tasting the rainbow

img_20130428_132621_898.jpg

The kid and the lady taking a break on a log over the river on our way down.

img_20130428_143617_970.jpg

Another giant waterfall. They're a dime a dozen in this place.

img_20130428_121840_038.jpg

The cost of natural beauty.

I stayed in this heavily guarded, walled compound for a night, waiting for my ship to arrive in southern Nigeria.

It is absolutely beautiful. We went there kind of spur of the moment. We need to go back when we have a solid week to explore.
