Best way to tell in a GM is to look at the spacing of the exhaust ports. I can't see them in that picture.
good call Cinder!

the Chevy big block the exhaust ports are equal distance from each other and on the small block they have the two center ports right together.

that's a small block Chevy going into that Camaro. the vavle covers are another dead give-away.

the cubic inch displacement of the enging doesn't dictate it being a big block or small block. the engine design does.

I can't tell the picture on my phone is small but I'm pretty sure that picture Dango posted is a small block as well. And I was just curious what the displacement was.

They usually do. You could probably work for a shipyard by trips place. Good money I hear. I think they start our "engineers" at $265 a day. Not to shabby.

Damn. I won't be done with school until March. But I'll put it on the list. Don't ever call me an engineer.

Not fair lol. Little ole towboat here lol. Still makes me giddy to work the throttle by hand on a few thousand horsepower.

Looks good!
