My uncle tells a story of his worst experience hunting. He was bow hunting, and shot a deer. Put the arrow through both lungs, and severed a larger artery. But for some reason, this deer was pretty damn tough. He flailed around, thrashing, grunting, and trying to "scream", for, as he put it, "it seemed like hours. Likely only five minutes or so". He says he bawled like a baby. Had never been so sorry in his entire life for killing a deer. And that was after having killed quite possibly hundreds in his lifetime.
And that's why I'm afraid to go hunting.

Don't let one bad experience stop you from possibly many good experiences. Ever had a bad meal in a restaurant? How about a fender bender? Who hasn't had a bad date?

Life is too short to not experience what you want to. Just my two cents.

Yeah, that was the only kill he felt bad about. The only one that wasn't a clean drop. (and it should have been.)
