This very old German boar hog was killed on Quanah Range; Ft. Sill, OK. There was a small disk in his ear from a game farm in Bavaria. A rich Okie ordered those hogs from Germany and turned them loose all over western OK.

We are hunting Russian boars in our area. They have migrated throughout Europe now. They have become the dominant animals in our forests. They are huge razorbacks. The males have thick armor in the front. Their waffen (weapons, which really means tusks) are mounted on frames over here. First rule when drive hunting these boar is do not stand with your legs apart. They will see you as a tunnel to escape. Their tusks will cut your arteries between your legs and it is lights out for you. Still, nothing my CZ 550 in .308 can't handle.

How old are you? My kids definitely got more adventuresome with their food preferences in their late teens. Now, they'll try almost anything.

Jager, I've been wanting to ask. Are you native born German or a transplanted American living in Deustchland? I may have missed this somewhere...

I was a military brat that moved to Germany when I was 10 or 11. Later I married an attractive younger (no really) local and lived the majority of my life here. Been married for 18 years now. I am 42. I did some college in the states and lived in Cali for two years. Oh, I was born in the Missouri at the local base.
