actually the barrel rests above my arm pit. true an ND would be a bad, very bad thing. i was wearing it all day and im 99% pos an ND would only make me deaf. unless i had my head canted over to the side obve the barrel.

given all that honestly it was empty at the time it was just the easiest way to transport it.
also it was really surprising to how comfortable it was to wear. not sure i would keep it loaded, maybe do the empty chamber thing.

it was also took focus to lift my shirt high enough to draw it well. with no shirt of it it comes out smooth.
just things for me to consider.. might just be a winter, secondary peice. hehe.

i would really love to take it hunting though

It happens. Happened to me!

You're damn right they were lying. It's closer to 40-50.

Ugh! I don't need the other 20.
Sad thing is my diet never changed. I have the same calorie intake.

Same here. For the first week and a half, I didn't eat anything. I was already full all the time from the severe constipation. (Oh, by the way y'all, TMI alert)
After I got past that, I ate every damn thing in sight for about 3 days, then I was back to my normal diet.

Im going to look for my first 1911 in the morning when I get out of work. Whats everybodys favorite 1911 that they own? Ive been researching different brands and models and I like the Ruger Sr1911 and I like the Springer TRP and I dont remeber the model but I did look at a Remington, I believe it was the R1. It will eventually be my carry weapon after I shoot it a few hundred rounds through it. I dont need ambidextrous saftey and I prefer fixed sights and I like the beavertail saftey. Not sure if I will be buying one in the morning unless I find something I love. But I have got about 700 rounds of .45acp just waiting to get shot. And I would like to stay below $1500. Thats the max my wife is giving me to spend on my new firearm. Gotta love a wife like that.

Recently celebrated my one year anniversary with my springer milspec. I chose it for a couple of reasons:
Availability. I simply couldn't find many options where I was living.
Price. It was right.
Quality. Self explanatory. They're right up there with Colt.
Basic configuration. I knew that eventually I would want to make it my own. This ties into price. Didn't want to go high dollar in a gun with all the bells and whistles, when I know I can figure out what works best for me. Ergo, I can have everything I want, and nothing I don't. Not that you can't do that with a well dressed gun from the factory, but to me it would feel like a waste of money even if it really isn't.
Full size steel frame and slide.I was accustomed to packing a revolver, a Smith and Wesson 65-2, so these smaller carry 1911's held no real attraction for me. I know I can handle/conceal the weight and size, and the longer sight radius + longer barrel I felt would do better on the range, which is where 100% of my shooting takes place.
I got it for carry, but I hope I never do more than practice with it.
