Looks like a sea monkey. I'm kidding, I'm sure it will be adorable, I just don't know about ultrasound, I can never see what anyone is talking about. I had an ultrasound once, the nice lady doctor told me where all my insides were, it all just looked like grey and white blobs on a black screen to me...

I couldn't see squat in the ultrasounds of my kids in utero, but when oneof them was 3 years old we had an ultrasound on his heart and that sucker was like opening him up and looking right down inside him. Abslolutely amazing resolution and clarity. I could even see the blood flowing inside the aortas and the heart valves opening and closing as his heart beat. The cardiologist said that machine was much more sophisticated than the ones that the OB/GYN used. I'll take his word for it!

More than likely. I would imagine a cardiologist needs to see in a little more detail.

There are high resolution and 3D ultrasounds used for special purposes.

The cardiologist was using a high resolution machine and it had the ability to detect blood flow and pressures, showing then with color variations. It was totally cool, especially since it showed that a problem the doctor detected when he was an infant (my son, not the doctor) had corrected itself. Once that was determined the doc was enjoying showing off the machine and what it could do. I really dig that stuff so I was enthralled. Heck, when my dad was on his deathbed (literally) they were using this tiny impeller pump and I was checking that little sucker out- the tech from the company was there (he came because of my dad, driving an hour and a half from the East Bay to get there and he was there in the hospital for 10 hours until Dad passed on). This is an explanation of the device they used on Dad.

Thank you all for the congrats, we are super excited, and I'm trying to get as much sleep as I can until the baby is here!
