Go ahead, I'm not a big fan of diesels anyways, mainly because of how they sound. Some of the newer ones are ok though, because they sound like petrol engines

Anyhow, he gave me a ride in it as I (conveniently) live very near to a "destination road". That car is one of the most impressive cars I have ever ridden in or driven, which is a pretty impressive list- though I won't go into that here. The acceleration is staggeringly fast and the remarkable thing is that as you are accelerating, faster and faster and faster- there is no shifting. There is no gearing, the electric motor drives the wheels through a single-speed direct drive transmission. Reverse is obtained by reversing rotation of the electric motor. The car I rode in had the two-speed transmission. It also has traction control, so in the wet conditions we were in there was no wheel slip (though you can turn off this feature if you so desire.)
That's awesome. Would love to get a ride in one of those. I think Teslas are one of the best electric cars on sale today. Our school has a project car very much like the Tesla, the Electric RaceAbout-> http://www.raceabout.fi/era/home
They actually made a new road legal electric vehicle lap record on Nordschleife last year with that car.

Do you ever feel the need for change for no particularly good reason? We traded in the wife's 06 Suzuki XL7 yesterday for 2013 Subaru Outback. Nothing really wrong with the Suzuki, I was just sick of looking at it. Does that make me shallow?
It's been a few years since I looked at Subarus. It would seem that they finally figured out how to make interiors that don't make me think of my 1981 Buick. I remember an 08 Impreza that was simply bad. Acres of cheap black plastic. This thing is downright pleasant to be in, maybe not luxurious, but nice nonetheless.

Liberals are constantly telling us about the poor and oppressed in this country. With that in mind, why do they feel the need to keep importing poor people from other countries?

Lucky! I would love to own a Subaru someday. I had one say in the early 80's and I loved it. I drove it until I wouldn't go anymore. I hope to have one again someday. And it's an Outback that I'd want.

This is just a joke photo. My granddaughter lost a tooth this morning. She spent the night with me. We thought it would be funny to take a picture as if the tooth fairy gave her $100. The money is part of my "emergency fund" since I'm still unemployed.

This is the first actual, no kidding "new" car I've bought since 1994 (& only my 3rd one ever). They are pretty reasonably priced considering the amount of content. Also, used ones hold their value really well. Thus a one or two year old one doesn't really save you much money overall.
