Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Cane would be correct. Naval Air Station Whidbey. It's the only military base up in that neck of the woods. Welcome to NAS "The Sound of Freedom" is the tag line on the sign out front.

The Blue Angles land and practice there every year before SeaFair. I spent many a paid afternoon on Cable Company time watching them perform.

Does commercial aircraft fly into NAS? Or is there a commercial airport in the area? I will be flying commercial and wasn't for sure how it worked.

Not unless you are Air Force One.

You will fly into Sea-Tac, which is Seattle Tacoma International Nightmare ( I mean airport ). Depending on when you are landing, and where you are headed ( North? ) and how quickly you will be SMACK DAB in the middle of some of the areas worst rush hour traffic.

I would suggest several Valium and a couple of little bottles while on the plane.

Naval Air Station...

Whidbey Island NAS is located in the northwest corner of Washington State, 90 miles north of Seattle. Within close proximity to the San Juan Islands and the Cascade and Olympic mountains, Whidbey Island is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Fishing, hunting, hiking, sailing, canoeing, camping and bike riding are all prevalent in this spectacular rural area with its rocky beaches and rolling hills.

Naval Air Station Whidbey is comprised of two bases five miles apart: the Seaplane Base and the Naval Air Station (also known as Ault Field.) Located on the western shore of the island, the Air Station contains most of the military activities. The Seaplane Base is on the eastern shore at the edge of the town of Oak Harbor.

Been there, done that...when I worked for DoD. If ya get a chance, check out Seattle too! The Underground and birthplace of Jimi Hendrix...
