Did you really need to include "Hole Openers" & "dump cake" in the same posting!!

applesauce should be banned if your gonna ban anything. right along with mayonaise neither should exist.

applejuice is a great basting liquid for pork but applesauce is just freekin babyfood and doesnt belong on an adult menu. its a copout for making an actual desert.

Your entitled to your opinion, but if you ever tasted my mother-in-law's or wife's homemade applesauce you'd think differently, IMO!!

It ain't like Mott's or any other store bought crap, man it's delicious!!!

We ain't going to argue with that, but apple sauce don't belong on pork. i got an old cook book, and they say you don't add currant jellie to ducks.....and all ducks is either cooked bloody or slow cooked for hours on end................Besides, apple sauce don't go with creamed taters.........

I LOVE pork with green chilis, chicken-fried pork chops, roast pork, you name it. But I make an Alsatian dish called choucroute garni that is lean pork, bacon and sausages cooked in sauerkraut and beer, with onions and garlic, and I put unsweetened applesauce, chopped Granny Smith apples, or apple juice in it. You don't actually taste apple, but it damn sure adds to the flavor. It became a favorite dish of two wives--consecutively, not simultaneously.

I love raw turnips. Peel, cut it into cubes and eat them. So good. I can't say I've ever tried them cooked.
