Default Politics forum

Why is it that certain members are able post in there and others are not when both are not supporting members?

Just had a huge post typed up on my phone but when I pressed to send it it says I am denied. After that I looked and the guy I was quoting was a senior member just like me.

Actually, it is only because we don't like Linux users. The Linux penguin kept trying to hit on Pengy, our mascot.

Sorry, could not resist! Do not know which thread or which user. However, if it started as a thread outside of politics, and was MOVED to politics (As we have done with several), well...........

Were some accounts grandfathered in and allowed to post in the politics section when the new rule was put in place?

ANGST FACTOR 12: You know not with whom you screw.

I've been a hard-core Linux user since version 0.12 (the first publicly released version) and use it daily. Fools mocked me until Linux overtook their precious Solaris *spit* in the data center. Non-techie folks mocked me until they saw I could do so much more than they with their idiot operating systems, Windows and MacOS. (MacOS made a giant leap when it adopted the MACH kernel and let knowledgeable folks muck around under the hood, but their hardware still stinks for the price.)

Anyway, Linux is cool. Don't mess with it or I'll crash your refrigerator, tablet, TV, toaster oven, car, favorite pen, that last six pack you just bought, and your garage door opener (they all run Linux).

Hell I'll take Ubuntu over windows every day. Linux is a headache for a couple days then it's fantastic. Windows is a migraine that never goes away. Mac is for socialists. Android in for people that don't mind being spied on. Lol

What exactly is Linux? I know it is an operating system, but how is it different from windows, mac, ect?

Windows is extremely unsecure. Mac is hyper controlling. Linux is safe, free and highly customizable. Just for starters.
