Taking weapons away won't do anything.

Take cable TV away and you'll really piss off the populace.

The biggest problem with political correctness, is that those who demand it, use it to try to change and/or manipulate or control human behavior--as if by demanding that we say something that sounds less "hurtful" to another person, we'll actually BE or FEEL less hurtful or more civil to others. The problem is, that it doesn't change behavior or real feelings, it only covers them up which leads to the second problem--that it makes liars out of everyone-- if we can't say what we mean-- we're not able to be honest and we end up not saying what we mean, but what we think we should say. We need to be able to be honest and say what we mean.
Example: In the workplace you can't say, "he's an idiot and his work sucks" you have to say, "he's somewhat challenged in his work environment and his work product may require level 4 intervention processes." The point is, how you say it doesn't really alter the fact that the guy should probably be fired. PC just drags it out and makes it all a pile of unPC crap.

With apologies to Gladiator:

Quote:
Rome is the mob. Conjure magic for them, and they'll be distracted.

Take away their freedom, and still they'll roar.

The beating heart of Rome...is not the marble of the senate.

It's the sand of the Colosseum. He will give them American Idol and they will love him for it.
We are entertaining ourselves to death. Most people can tell you who just got kicked off American Idol or what the latest twist was in Lost, but have no idea what Islamberg or The Red House or any of dozens of similar sites are.

frpprez, you are 100% on target. Nobody could have said it better. We are loosing our country and we the people are the only ones that stop it. No political party can or have the will and guts to stop it. They blow with the winds of getting re-elected. That's their bottom line. They don't give a sh-t about us or this country. Whether you are, Right or left, or in the middle, and think your party is going to fix things if they get elected, your delusional. Here is proof. We got a person in my state who said she is willing to spend 70 million of hew own dollars to win a senate seat. She is a billionaire. Do you really think she cares about us working stiffs? I truly believe that we might be witnessing the beginning of the end of this great country if we don't do something about it.
