I have what i believe to be a smith and wesson .38 double action perfected model.
markings on top of barrel =Smith and wesson springfield mass usa pat'd aug 4 96. dec 2. 98. oct 5. 01 feb 6 06

left side on barrel 38 s&w ctc.
right side = no markings but does have what appears to be a removeable plate.

im not exactly sure if thats what this is or not.

According to my Smith&Wesson hand guns book by Roy C. McHenry and Walter F. Roper that is indeed a perfected model .38 S. & W. top break and side lock revolver. Manufactured from 1909 to 1920. Hope that helps ya out.
