I have smoked a pipe on and off for close to twenty years, several times a week for the last couple years. I had a bent stem, asked wifey for a straight stem for Christmas, and got another bent stem.

I mix my own tobaccy for it: approximately 40% red cap red bag (dry, almost like a plain cigar filler), 30% golden cavendish (sticky sweet, mild), 20% dark premium stuff, and 10% middletons cherry.

I grow a beard in the winter, but go baby butt smooth when its hot.

Not over 60, do have a beard.
I enjoy about an ounce of a randomly chosen expensive tobacco a month. Aside from that, the majority of the time, it is a cheap tobacco.
I started smoking a pipe for a few reasons, cigarettes come in a paper box, they get wet they are junk, I do reenactments etc. and they didn't have Marlboro's in the 1700s and last but certainly not least, I pay about $18 a pound instead of $10 a pack!

Nice. Briar wood?

Anyone interested should try to look up a buddy of mine, Emmanuel Atilano. Maybe two t's, Attilano.

Served with him, great guy. He makes pipes and unique pens and such.

Contact me if anyone's interested and can't find him through Google. I'll put you in touch.

Not sure. Briar is usually marked. This isn't.
Did a quick search for your buddy. Came up with a pipe makers forum.

I don't think that is a problem.
