I'll wear my hat in the shop and when I was working I wore it inside the dealership, other than that I won't wear it in my own apartment. Never really thought about it, I guess my Dad always takes his hat off when he goes in the house, it wasn't something he was really strict about, just learned by watching. At school we're not allowed to wear hats in the classroom and a lot of people complain about that rule, doesn't really bother me.

I wear hats because my head gets really cold and its not a weather thing. I am short on any "natural cover" up on top, plus I have some health issues that cause my internal thermostat to go a bit haywire and my body just doesn't seem to regulate heat very well. I am always radiating heat even when I shouldn't be.

So, sometimes I wear a hat indoors. Sometimes I wear a jacket indoors too when everybody else is comfortable without.

If I am cold, I will be wearing my damn hat. Suck it up people. I am not making a fashion statement. I am just cold.

Oh, and in the summer? I wear a hat to keep the sun off my bald spot and out of my eyes. I'll take that hat of indoors. But my thinning hair looks a fright when I do. Just be forewarned.

Waiting on the cops and a tow truck. I'll be peeing in a little cup. That's fine, I don't use. But the last guy who had a minor incident like this was temporarily suspended without pay until the drug test results came back. It only took three days, but I can't afford I. I have vacation time I'll have to use if it comes to that. If they'll let me.

Someone... please tell me something that's gonna make my day better.
Not that you need it, but when you pee in the cup you can keep your hands warm for a couple of minutes.....

I always apologize for not taking mine off. I have some scarring I'm not too thrilled to show off. Same reason when we lived in the ATP. Complex with a pool that I didn't take off a shirt. Got tired of explaining how they all got there. Had an argument once at Giants Stadium( wasn't working that day-but it was at a pre-Season game & I was still a reservist. Was in Uni to got to drill weekend after game, 9 hr. Drive to Ft. drum!)......long story short guy wanted to buy us all beers...

I also really detest when someone reads over my shoulder. Even worse when they ask questions about the stuff they were snooping.

How about "irregardless"? Without without regard?

"I could care less." So you really do care?

"One in the same" In the same what? One AND the same.

"each one worse than the next" So freaking STOP ALREADY. Unless you really meant to say "each one worse than the last"

"for all intensive purposes" Just how intense are your purposes? Maybe you meant "INTENTS and purposes"?

Getting off "scotch free". If I was on the hook to begin with, and I got off said hook, I want my scotch, dammit. But I've gotten off "scott free" many times. I don't know who scott is, or how he makes me so free, but I really appreciate that glorious bastard.

In a "doggy dog world", everything is wagging puppy tails and tossed tennis balls. But in a "dog eat dog" world, it's a vicious cycle of having to not just kill, but completely remove your competition.

"bob wire". No... it's not Bob's. But it IS BARBED.

And then there are these... can't remember the word for this phenomenon, but there is one...

Accept/Except
Affect/Effect
Elicit/Illicit
Farther/Further

Many... many... many more could be added...

I understand that not everyone is an English major, which is why I don't just crawl up people's asses over this. But everyone else can understand that I'm not either, I'm only a half educated redneck (as I just mentioned in another thread), and even I know this sh!t.

"Scot free" refers to the frugality of my ancestors,

the Scottish, who are notoriously cheap, and go a

little insaner than usual about saving money,

and things which are (roll the rrrrrr hard, now)

frree...

OKAY "duck tape".

It's duct, duct, duct, as in heating duct tape.

YES, I KNOW there's a brand named "Duck", but it

does seem ignorance is popular.

IME "bob wire" is a deep south accent. Now why

Yankees call it "bob wire" is beyond me. Maybe they

carry a spool of it in their BOBs...
