Let him guess why you aren't returning a call. He may not really even care. If you respond you'll encourage him though. The less said the better. You'll have nothing positive to say so say nothing.

My .02
Been there its not the first time ive told a friend to jump in the creek.
Deal with your old friend just tell him straight, he might be a friend from now on an a good one. Dont let what he did define the rest of his life,
Did he pay for his crime? He did his time

Plenty of people have paid for their mistakes. Too often we as humans tend to forget the good and only remember the bad, and we are living with that daily in the news.
If my friend called me and asked me for advice on the same situation I would say to reach out and make him aware of your concerns and see why he's reaching out. If anything at least you have him the courtesy of allowing him to explain himself. You'd want that for yourself if you were in his buster browns.

Ignore this first call.
If you do get another call then you may need to deal with him.

Another thought is tell him that you would love to meet him in Las Vegas. Give him some weird meeting place and time.... then go back to work.

Ignore the call, he wants something. Even if he doesn't, ignore the call.

I personally would not call him back, either.

Another vote for no contact.

Hopefully he'll have better things to do

than pester you constantly. With any luck,

he'll move on, and forget about you.
