Yes, Tango. Thanks for noticing.

Back to the onion rings. I went to Smashburger for the first time the other day and they had the skinny onion rings like this:

I've come to believe these onion rings are the finest in the world. Pengie, have you ever tried the little onion rings like these?

Lon, is smashburger a chain or local? Those look like some tasty rings. We have only fat ones around here.

It's a chain, the manager told me they're up to 100 stores now. I had heard about them because I am on the never-ending quest for the perfect hamburger.

Smashburger is not it. In 'n Out still is, but we've had that thread/argument many times before. And Tango thinks In 'n Out SUCKS, which still baffles me.

I like the rings because the onion to breading ratio is spot on, in my opinion. I hate rings where you can't really taste the onion, and I think the key is to just dust them with seasoned flour and then fry.

We are going to this Old Sacramento place today. CA says it will be interesting and educational. I will report after we return.

Here is my report from Old Sacramento.

Old Sacramento is mostly very old buildings. It is also where the "Red Light" district used to be. I looked and looked, but I could not find any red lights.

We were going to go to the California Military Museum, but it was closed. CA357 said some words Pengie has never heard before.

Here are some pictures that show a little bit of the old stuff:

These pictures are of the Delta King. This is the "Sternwheeler" that CA talked about. It was pretty big. They have the wheeler part chained off to the public. It was a very strange looking propeller.

We saw this big statue of a Pony Express Rider. Here's some pictures of that and a picture of a nice man that was driving a horse & buggy.

This last picture is of a T Shirt I bought for CA. He saw it and it made him laugh very loud. I have lots of Penguin Bucks from all my TDY, so I bought it so he would laugh more.

That is the end of my report for now. We are going to have New Year's Eve in a little while and I will check back in when I can.
