Next day was relaxation day. We all spend the day around something called an "Infinity Pool". JD says that he likes this pool very much and is going to have one when he wins the lottery. Not so sure about that, but the pool was very nice and Pengie floated and splashed and played all day like when he was just a wee little penguin.

Being the good guest that Pengie is, he handled bar service for his hosts and frequently was recovering fresh drinks to keep my humans hydrated.

Here Pengie has a nod to Benning Boy and is drinking as The World's Most Interesting Penguin.

And of course it would not be a trip with JD if Pengie did not take part in Mojito Madness...

Pengie had fresh fish. Mrs. JD had steak and salad along with baked potato. JD had lobster tail, steak & potato along with a few drinks for everyone. 1000 pesos goes a LONG ways in Isla Mujeres.

Next day was Zama Beach Club. This is supposed to be one of the finer "resort" clubs on the island.

Pengie will be the judge of that. Trip Advisor is no Pengie after all.

Zama Beach Club is a very nice place with big comfy resort chairs to lay in the sun and they bring lots of snacks anad drinks to you. Pengie, of course, played in the pool, but he finally got a chance to spend some time with one of the lizards. Turns out if you offer them some Guacamoles, they will sit and converse with you. Here Pengie is taking the pictures, showing his ability to multitask.

While at ZAMA Beach Club, Pengie meet a local famous person. Her name is Vivian and she owns the #1 non chain restaurant in all of the Yucatan Peninsula as according to FODOR's Rating.

Her restaurant is called Qubano and OF COURSE she invited Pengie and his guests over for a meal and some small talk.

Qubano has one of the best Cuban Sammiches JD has ever had, and supposedly the best outside of Cuba according to Vivian. Here Pengie gets a sample and it was quite tasty.

Vivian could not keep her hands off Pengie and simply had to have a photo of the two of us. Pengie was most happy to oblige.

One of the great things about Qubano is that it has a very small, focused menu of very good food. There is even a special dish that Pengie thinks would be great for Orangello and his friends.

Pengie, don't forget that you are scheduled for a TDY to Sacramento.

Last day on the island and we had checked out of the hotel, we had returned the go kart and now we were waiting for the ferry to take us to the airport. Pengie was sad and happy. Pengie missed his new gun collection, but liked the fun of vacation as opposed to work.

JD found a nice little outdoor "hut" where the fishermen all dock to sell their daily catches and we could get some snacks. Pengie wanted to try this stuff called El Yucatan hotsauce that JD said was very flavorful and good.

HOLY HELL!!!! JD is apparently from the sun!

Pengie quickly found out that hot sauce is not good or flavorful or anything along those lines and must be quickly extinguished with liquid that also offers alcohol to ease the pain. Thankfully Mrs. JD was willing to let Pengie go for a swim in her margarita.
