Do they still use M60's? I figure they have better versions,, my favorite is an M79 Blooper,, no particular reason besides the fun factor,, just like throwing live grenades,, a real hoot,,, a sport looked down upon by the local constabulatory in these parts,,,, but just good fun.

M249 was the replacement for a squad weapon. Lighter to carry around of course. The round was also lighter...5.56.

M240 replaced the m60 as a heavier machine gun. 7.62x51mm of course.

The m60 is still in the US arsenal though!

M60's are kind of heavy but a lot better to pack that a Crews Weapon base plate for certain.

America doesn't need a Marine Corps, they want one

M60e3 is the model still in service I've only come across a handful of them. More often you see the 240b and the 249. Congrats on your graduation Marine have fun learning your job now Shag

Jager beat me to it.

Shag one of the most fun times I've had is when one of my LTs set up a Ma Deuce shoot for the Company. This was when I was in Okinawa.

He didn't get enough rounds though. We each only got about 20... It was over way too fast... Kinda like losing your virginity...

If Drill Instructors still have the peaceful demeanor and wonderful patience they used to have when I was on Parris Island,,, I would not ever recommend trying to correct one on weapons, Shag,, most likely have you P T you until you crap yourself or invite you into the gear locker for further motivation,, that may have change a lot since the 70's though.

As of six years ago, nope. Still plenty of "motivation" to be found.

It was time for a new signature. This is what you get.
