Today I drove Toby out to my son's home. My oldest will be giving Toby a very loving home. This is my son's first dog all his own in his new home. My son is a kind, compassionate and caring man....and an animal lover like his Mama. He's looking forward to training Toby and exercising Toby to work off some of that excess weight that seems to be slowing him down. I delivered Toby with a bag of food bought with donated money, donated treats and toys, the crate with a thick pad in it Kirk bought with Riverrat's money, collar and tags. I'm expecting one more donation to come in and that will be given to my son for buying two bowls and whatever else Toby needs.
I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU
to all who helped me with this project. It meant a lot to me because I knew it meant a lot to Riverrat. I can't turn my back on my friends and I can't ignore an animal in need.
This had a great outcome. Toby will be well loved by my son, his wife and his 9 year old (step) daughter.
Here are two videos of Toby enjoying a game with his new "master" in a fenced in back yard.
And here are some photos.....
I must say in just the few days I've had Toby, he had become attached to me. He stayed close to me at my son's house. He tried to follow me out to my car. My son had to hold him back. But I am sure in just a few days he will be as dedicated to my son and his family as he was to me.
I will keep you all posted as to how Toby's doing at my son's house over the next few weeks. I also will be posting pictures of the new, slimmer, trimmer, healthier Toby, too. My son and his family are very excited to have such a great dog with an interesting history. And I will be seeing Toby often.
