Default Oregon coast trip - ideas?

Looks like we'll be taking our 5w down the Oregon coast this summer.

I'm hoping to get some tips for good campgrounds and attractions. I have a "big rig" toy hauler and will likely throw in the Rhino as there does appear to be some worthwhile sand dune areas to explore. Two teenagers in the family.

Also, is there someplace between southern Oregon and Alberta where I can buy a few to several hrs. of good training for them with handguns? I'm thinking some defensive aspects and general safety/shooting. If it goes well, I may buy a couple handguns again. It's such a nuisance up here that I gave it up and I'm not keen to lay out the money without knowing they, and hopefully the wife, are interested. I figure paying some rent to someone else and using their guns and range/course would be a good way to find out and also a memorable stop on the trip.

All ideas and suggestions are appreciated. Thx.

There are a few depending upon your preferences for type of park. We like Neskowin Creek but there are fancier ones as well.

My web-site has some of them listed @ RVSchooner.com.

You may want to post on the Northwest Firearms Forum to see if anyone has recommendations for ranges.

Pull through for a 60' rig is a priority but I'll certainly back in if it's nice. What we like? Well, we were in the Yukon last year and if it were up to me, we'd be back there this year. We like bush/mountains/remote but know this trip will not be that. On the other hand, there will be ocean and places we've never seen before so looking forward to it.

Thanks for the tips, techiej, I'll check into those sites for sure.

We'll be fine. I have Hatchet Jack's rifle.

Oceanside, Oregon - Make sure to check out Roseanna's http://www.roseannascafe.com The toll house pie is to die for.

Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, OR. It's the best small to midsize aviation museum I've been to. http://www.evergreenmuseum.org

Thank you very much. Looks great. And the highly educational museum also has a firearms collection...

They've added that since I was last out there. That gives me a good reason to go back the next time I'm in the area.

No, thanks. We've got our own sasquatch, alien abduction, mind control death ray crowd up here. Not my cup of tea.
