The NRA is us. It is of, by and for gun owners, and others who believe in freedom. The NRA is THE major gun lobby in Washington D.C. and has fought tirelessly for YOUR rights. It's about the never ending struggle for our rights.

You should join simply because it's members have been pulling the load for all of those gun owners who are not members, but receive the benefits of our efforts. We could use your help.

Has the NRA done things I do not agree with? Yes, but then so has my wife. I'm not giving up on either of them.

++1 on info. I think it takes 2 Life Members to make the point. kage-call/e-mail the NRA before you join for 2 years. Tell them you want the BEST deal on a Life Membership. They will discount the cost+set you up on quarterly payments==after 3 or so years-free+clear Life Member. As young as you are you won't regret it.

I emailed them, but they wouldn't give me a discount. But it was worth a shot.

What do you get out of it.

Well you get lots of unwanted junk, you get them hitting you up for money 12 times a year. Oh yeah you get the most successful lobbist group on capital hill standing behind your RIGHTS.
only 12 times? i get hit up pretty much on a weekly basis

I did the yearly membership for a few years (got hit up constantly for money), then let it laps for a couple.

Now I'm working on the Lifetime EZ-Pay, and I can hardly tell I'm a member. I rarely get anything from them.

I even signed up for the community activism thing, and got a free watch but never any requests to help out. I'm thinking that they don't ask much of the community volunteers except in election years.

Oh well, It feels great to be a member, and will be even greater when I get my membership paid for.

I've been a Life Member since the mid-90's, and usually subscribe to a couple extra magazines as well. They do hit you up for money a lot, but we have to keep in mind that money is the name of the game, and they have to ask a lot of times to get some. I send money when I can, and just toss the requests when I can't.

Some guys say they won't join "this" organization but will join "that" one. I think the more we join, the stronger we look. So, NRA, state orgs (maybe several), GOA, SAF, etc. Join as many as you can handle.

Tom
