Thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only that thinks that way.

As for everyone else thanks for the responses but it sounds like you guys are as devised as I was. Sounds like it's all up to your discretion and the specific situation, and how you approach it.
In retrospect I think made the right call but wouldn't hesitate if the officer seemed to have needed more assistance if this kinda thing ever happens again.

LOL if you asked me did I need help id probably say no unless I was bleeding. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be grateful for it after the fact if you jumped in.

One of the situations I was in was almost identical to the one the cop at the ball game was in. I was escorting someone out of a sporting event and he was trying to run from me while one of his friends was trying to distract me.

Nope, you sure aren't. Life can present situations where it is just not possible to vote "present" and when there is no time to dither. We've all been there and what we do in those seconds will form a memory we will either look back on and be satisfied with or a memory that will push into a man's mind on occasion and make it hard to sleep.

I have both but, thankfully, more of the former.

Chances are things will calm right down as soon as the punks realize the odds have shifted.
