Default Not so enjoyable outing.

Well, yesturday I for the first time in my life came as close as it gets to having to defend my life and my family members.

As part of my family's Labor Day tradition me and a lot of my cousins go out on their farm and do shooting (skeet, targets, and what ever). While we were enjoying ourselves one of their neighbors comes onto their property swearing, yelling, and raising Hell at us. He was pissed at the noise of the firearms, and a few other things. I told him that we were on our property and doing what we do every year, and not to I told him the only thing illegal here is that he was trespassing on our property. Once I said that he got even more enraged so he called the police and pulled out a handgun, and at that point I said there's no need to turn this into a bloody outing, but he was beyond reasonable. I had my shotgun on me like I usually do, and I had 00 buckshot in it and a slug or two, and I had my finger in the trigger guard (saftey off) and I was prepared to defend myself and my family. Never have I been so prepared, calm, and ready to do what was and if necessary.

Long story short, the police arrived and arrested him for trespassing.

I will not comment on nor judge either side of this without knowing the tone of voice and the exact words used in communications by the parties involved.

If you don't like the sound of gunfire don't move to the country where people shoot & hunt.

I dont understand why he would complain of the noise from firearms when he has his own pistol. Hasn't he ever shot it before?

Good news is he was removed your property in the cop car instead of a body bag

Sounds like he approached the situation wrong, then exacerbated it by pulling out a gun on obviously armed and law abiding people. Not too smart, IMHO.

I will judge the trespasser as being in the wrong.

Glad to hear it turned out relatively uneventful. Be on guard though in case there are is any harbored animosity.
