Just got the book in the mail from Amazon.com. Can't wait to start the read. I usually don't read for pleasure, but with the controversy surrounding the book, I couldn't help but get it. Has any one read it (please don't spoil it) and what do you think?
When I get done reading it, I hope to update this thread with my thoughts, but I'm interested in hearing yours.

I still think the guy sold out his team members and should not have gone about publishing the way he did.

That is just personal opinion though. I don't intend on reading the book through any conventional means that puts money in his pocket because of my view.

Having read it, I can agree with you. Had he not let himself be outed in the press (his real name) I might have felt different. Those men and their families might not ever feel truly safe again. However, I did not read anything that I felt gave away operational procedures or tactics that was not already widely known outside the Special Forces community.

I agree with the author that the story should have been told, if for no other reason than to let people know just what Obama was doing and how political of a move it really was on his part.

Just finished it. I see nothing in it that is Earth shattering as far as secret information is concerned. I am disappointed that he went about it the way he did, but he does explain it somewhat by saying that if Obama and Admiral McRaven can talk about it as they have then he sees no reason why he can't, or something like that.

All in all, not as well written as some of the books I have read on the SEALs, but a good read nevertheless.
