For the next generation to find
 

Just wondering if anyone else does this . On all of my guns both hand me downs and recent buys I put a note or the receipt in the buttstock or grips on where it came from and who along with date . Im still waiting to get a oldtimer to open up and find somthing like that . I hope my kids and grandkids will learn to love and respect the craftsman ship that goes into a gun and will find those notes i put in there one day . I have my great great granddads remminton 1889 sxs12 that i sit and wonder how that gun may have helped get me here today by providing food or protection back then . BUt how cool would it be to open up a 120yr old gun to find a 120yr old note ?

Pencil may hold up better than ink. Have been know to stick name, address, date in there, and maybe "bought this rifle from Hollis Hardware in Elk Junction in June 1972 for $115."

If you ever get a Swiss K-31, it is common to find a slip of paper under the buttplate with the serial number, name and address of soldier it was issued to. That is in case that Jacque left his rifle on the trolley- it could be returned to him.

I've never thought of that, but it's cool as hell.

you mean power drill ? i have seen some uglies but hipoint takes it . i think im going to get my big sister one, when i say big i mean both size and older she is 6'2'' and pushing 275-300 i think the hp would fit her good

MobileMarine, that's a great idea you got there! I'm gonna have to start doing that.

Though I was the only nut job that did that. I have a note in a few of my firearms that notes how many turkeys they've put down and my trap gun has a special note shoud something happen tomorrow.
