My newest addition. One of my favorite verses.

I got a couple jailhouse tats in my living room when I was 12, stupid thing to do, I could have them removed but thats my reminder not to do stupid things. I dont mind tats on people, cest la vie; some just go way over the edge and if they age like the ones the old WW2 guys I knew did, they will look like giant rainbow moles when you get 70 (If you get 70) they could make for great stories in the OFH. Old guys doesnt matter so much cause were not that easy on the eyes to begin with but gently aging woman may not want the faded blotch effect easily noticed when they are taking the great grandkids to the Ice Cream Parlor!

That is so true Webley. I do not have any tats. Nothing against people that do. But I often see young people that have marked themselves up to be rebellious. How often we think on the short term. What will they think of that tat in 30 years?

Probably nothing in this day and age. Not to mention you can change your tattoo over the years. I do agree on points:
- face and neck tattoos...
- tattoos that are negative towards others that are clearly displayed, etc...
The thing is, tattoos are personality just as your individual attitude is. I despise people that are against guns, hunting, etc. but my tattoos do not reflect that, my mouth does. When I'm 70-80 years old, Ill be delighted (and possibly drift into youth for a moment) when explaining my tattoos. The are symbols of the most important parts of my life except for (1) which is from a night I spent in a 3-way with Jack Daniels but, only I know the true meaning. Point being, yes, there are dumbass's that will have "Regrets" not "Ragrets" (a little botched tattoo humor).
My tattoos come from about 8 states to include Hawaii (Kauai), and Canada.
Places:
- Kansas City
- Denver
- Kauai, HI
- Toronto Canada
- Fr. Bragg (Army)
- New Orleans

I had a PT boat tattooed on my chest when I was 20, it's now a battleship! A little tattoo humor. I don't have any tats, never really interested one but there are some nice ones out there. My brother has a caduceus tattooed on his back on the shoulder (can't remember if its right or left) from his paramedic days.

I knew a guy who has a buzzard tattooed on the head of his Johnson. He got it in 'Nam. Wins all sorts of bar bets with it.

I drew this one but I wasn't 100% thrilled with the guys work

Drew and did this one myself. I need to color it in. I may do that this winter.

I drew up tribal wings to cover my back and had them out on. I couldn't reach that far back. I'll get a pic of that later.

Back in the day we didn't have to mark with ink; we had the marks of life, you know, SCARS....

Tattoos have a rich history, especially with the Navy; tats of swallows, chickens, pigs, rope, anchors, golden dragons, et al. All of these were "scars" of sorts, each earned and displayed with pride. Each had a special meaning, even "back in the day".
