How about ten ring targets. New ones are shot.

How about a spent cartridge (just the brass) for old, and not spent for new. I can work a couple up later tonight if you want.

Anything over a year old should definitely have a Gravestone on it though.

.45ACP end case with a fresh primer and a punched primer would be ideal - but I am sure some other asshat forum stole that idea.

We need an old and a new right?

John Moses Browning for the old. It's clear he is the Grandfather of Firearm Design.

and....

Well? Hell. There isn't a modern Firearms master. Ronnie Barrett or Eugene Stoner?

Flying duck from Duck Hunt for New & cloud of feathers (or laughing dog from Duck Hunt) for Old.

I hated that dog.

The ten rings sounds good to me. I tried to mock something up but found it difficult to use the 10 ring version, when you shrink it down everything kinda blends in. Maybe a archery target with the colors would be more noticeable. When shot it would cover up some/most of the colors and make it stand out.

However, wouldn't the clean target represent new threads and the shot target represent threads that are old?
