The new Navy Working Uniform or NWU
Well, what do you think?
The new Navy Working Uniform or NWU is the latest working uniform to be introduced by the United States Navy. Based on the U.S. Marine Corps MARPAT combat utility uniform, with multiple pockets on the shirt and trousers, it uses a multi-color digital print pattern similar to those introduced by other services. The overall blue color reflects the Navy's heritage and connection to seaborne operations, though it is not intended to disguise the wearer. The pixelated pattern is also used to hide wear and stains, something unavoidable with the utilities and working khakis currently in use. The colors were also chosen to match the most commonly used paint colors aboard ship, extending the lifetime of the uniform on long deployments where uniforms often come into contact with freshly painted surfaces.

To be fair, I disagree with the Army's new stuff, too. In my day, no velcro, you had to come out of your pocket and pay cute Korean women to sew your patches on correctly, not to metion the hours of spit shining boots.

Didn't the services consolidate uniforms like 25 years ago to save money. Now they all have different uniforms to be unique. 10 more years till they consolidate and all have the same uniform again.

No one will ever be as sexy in a uniform as a Marine (male/female) in their dress blues....sorry folks, just deal with it.

One of the running jokes is that they new NWU's are the most common colors of paint on the ships...so when one of us gets paint on our stupid uniforms it will be harder to tell. Having said that, they did relax some of the regulations as to where and when the NWU's can be worn off base. They can be worn out to eat during normal working hours for example.
