New gun store
 

Got an email this week that Ft Stewart has opened a gun store in the PX. The last on post gun store I was in was at Camp Lejeune and it had some good stuff at fair prices. I'm going to have to drop in tonight after work and scope the place out. If it's a true PX operation - that means no sales tax so if the prices are reasonable...

Eglin AFB has (had) one in the main BX. Seemed to do pretty good. Reasonable prices. All new firearms (no used so forget about trading). :)

Too bad I cant use my expired military ID to buy anything.

I just made a quick run to look it over and the prices are decent:

Ruger SR9c, stainless slide: $412
Rock Island Tactical 4": $424
Remington 1911: $610

No sales tax.

Also saw & handled the Desert Eagle 1911, looked OK at first glance...

Do they take trades?:D

I wonder if any of the PXs around me have gun shops.....I may need to look into this.

I spoke with the manager and he said they were going to open in 33 PX's nationwide. They will also special order any gun you want and there's no shipping and you'll pay the standard markup...

Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque - is a big fat negative and very much doubt we will have one in the future. The standard BX stuff they sell in too overpriced!

Do they have a listing on which PX/BX or NEX will have them?

I was stationed there from 81-83, nice place...
