What idiot carries around an unloaded gun? A bat would be more effective!

This mess is on the owner of the shotgun. The first thing my father taught me about guns as a child " treat every gun as if it is loaded".

Certainly doesn't help us in our battle with the anti-gun media and politicians.

That happened at a local show with a .22.

I wasn't there that time, but someone was tellin me about it at a collectors show.
The guy had an old .22, that apparently had a worn extractor. He was standing in a line with his daughter, with the barrel on his foot. Somehow, he hit the trigger and it went off. The whole place went quiet, and no one moved for a couple seconds. He started stumbling and taking off his shoe, blood pouring through his sock, and his daughter freakin out. The worst part of it?
He was the local deputy.

I think it has more to do with "New Owners." I go to my local gun show every time it's in town. It's normally pull in, park, wait 5 minutes in line, get your gun zip tied (no loaded mags or guns allowed) head on in. Went on Saturday and it was a mad house. 45 mins just to park, line to get in was 2 and a half hours, zip tie was normal, place was crazy. What I did see though was nobody was really buying mags. A couple people picked up mags for a pistol here and there but every two people you passed one of them had a sign saying AR mags for sale. Prices ranging from $30-$65. Big thing I noticed was how many sour faces there were from vendors who were talking to newbies. Had one guy tell me he's answered the same question more than 200 times and the show had only been open for an hour. That question was "are bushmasters really the BEST AR? I almost crapped myself laughing.

Well at least they are pro-gun. I had a anti gun co worker show me a pic of a M&P 15-22. He said look at that bushmaster. The face palm was implied.

Tell me what does 3 totally unrelated accidents have in common? Nothing when compared to an connected to the New Town School shooting. What if I attended the Indpls. 500 and killed 2 people in a wreck caused by speeding? Would automoble owners be wringing their hands about this unrelated connection?

There isn't currently a push on to ban assault cars, or limit their fuel capacity.
