BB, I am actually glad you brought this up.

Just the other day I was wondering which color tack is best for SD or low light conditions?

For low light conditions I would advise the use of red tacks as they act like a tracer round. For SD I would procure pink tacks so that you can talk smack to your assailant after you have dispatched his sorry @$$. "Hey punk, you just got nailed by a pink tack! Ha ha ha!"

I'm in Texas, they aren't regulated down here.

Although I did hear that they are trying to outlaw the clear ones.

I'd get a hollow point and a hammer and jam the tack in the hollow point.

It'd probably have better ballistics.

Troy, if you were to fashion some kind of retractable flights similar to those seen on an arrow you might be able to get some longer rang out of those bad boys. I used to work in a ski and snowboard shop when I was younger and we got all hight tech with blow darts. We had them going straight through drywall from easily 15 yards away. Of course, these were not fashioned from thumb tacks.

The piece of tubing I've got right now is only 14" long (which is the minimum I would go for daily carry ).

But care must be taken while target shooting. I "Robin Hooded" three in about 5 minutes, so don't forget your shooting glasses.

BTW: I was shooting those at about 10 feet.
