Need some help on Tattoos

Well, now most of the supporting members knows I'm 18, 19 on friday :)
I've been wanting a tattoo for at least a year now. I'm not so enthused on bodily pain, but my mindset is "once its done, its there for good". Get it done and over with. I want something that has MEANING or that is something I enjoy.

So, one of my ideas is my last name [9 letters] down my left arm in old english font. This would start near the shoulder and end up at my wrist. My arms arent that long. Old English font

That might see stupid or pointless to some, but its something that will not change. One of the very few things about me that can change.

I've been thinking about getting a shotgun on my right forearm [i almost typed firearm LOL]. Call me a little obsessive, but shotguns are my passion. I spend 90% of my money on my shotgun. Its like my baby, except it doesnt pee/poop all over me.

Sooo..if you guys got tattoos or some crazy ideas for tattoos, I'm all ears.

I'll tell you what my father told me. They're permanent, They'll look like sh!t when you get older, Your body will produce things you will want to get cut or frozen off but that tattoo is there for life!!

Spend your money on another shotgun. That's something you can show off to friends and at the range rather than one you have drawn on your forearm. As for your last name down your arm, are you afraid you'll forget it?

Well I smoke alot, so I dont expect to live passed 60. However..my grandpa is almost 90, which I'm not happy about [for my own sake, I'm glad hes not dead].

I never really cared what my dad said. He was a horrible father. "He tried" is the nicest way to sum it up.

FWIW-I have no friends and no..I kid you not when I say that. Why do you think I'm on here all the time? :)

My mother smoked until she was in her fifties, now 90 and bed ridden. My father smoked all his life from fifteen on, only quitting after a heart attack. He died of chronic emphysema at 84.

If you have any will power, and there is plenty of support here, to quit smoking; do it now. I finally quit at 36, but the damage was already done.

Sorry to hear you and your father didn't get along, sometimes communicating with people you care for is impossible. Too bad, as there are innumerable things I wish I could talk to my Dad about but he's been gone now over 6 years.

I planned on quiting after this carton is gone. I've got like 2 packs left. I've had it for at least 2 weeks now. Since I won $200 at the casino Wed [ill tell about that another time], I've been wanting to save my money for my shotgun, another shotgun or possibly a tattoo.

Sorry to hear that Dune. I dont want my Dad dead or anything, hes just hot headed [I blame him for giving me that gene] and its his way or he gets pissed. But whatever. I talk to him few times a month.

I may need to make a quit smoking support thread lol
I use cigarettes as a muscle relaxer when I get pissed off.

Are you sure you're not my kid!! My son, 28; tells me the same thing. The Marine Corps didn't change his disposition either. Life is what you make of it. Right now your canvas is blank...paint a picture you can be proud of SS.

[smartass] I'm not a very good artist. :p[/smartass]

What part does your son tell you?

My whole life, I've done things the simple way and have been "boring", if you will. I just wanted to do something that is different [to me] and spice up my body a little bit. Nothing special about a 5'9, 240lb guy.

But you're right. I should just go for something that I can be proud of.
Thanks Dune.

Put your blood type on there somewhere. You never know. ;)

Shotgun Shooter 08-16-2009 05:25 AM

If I even knew my blood type. LOL.

Find out what it is. You don't need it as a tattoo, but it's pretty important information to know.
