Combat Veterans For Congress | Electing Fiscal Conservatives

I'd vote for him.

Gotta be a lot more than that. I think it was 1962 when JFK done an executive order awarding every WWII vet that had a CIB or CMB the Bronze Star for meritorious service against the enemy.

Probably a little harder to come by today.??

Edited: because I thought bronze & typed silver, sorry!

I have Air Force experience and each service differs. But NO the bronze star is not handed out like candy. Meritorious Service Medal, yes they are handed out much to often. Don't get me wrong, the paperwork on the MSM will sound like the man single handedly dropped every bomb on Baghdad during Gulf Storm but Senior NCO's get that medal for not f'ing up so to me it's a meaningless medal. NCO's get the commendation medal, I got one of those, for doing really nothing special but overall a good job in my tour in Alaska.

The "39 bronze stars" is incorrect- I KNOW more then 39 people with a Bronze Star. Re: JFK awarding Silver Stars to all WWII holders of the CIB/ CMB- news to me- the Silver Star is only awarded for "Gallantry in combat".

This is one of my classmates that was awarded the Silver Star- posthumously- and a couple of years ago, was inducted into the US Army Range Hall of Fame. There are less than 100 members of the Hall of Fame. Mark and I were the two youngest members of our OCS class.
