Need HELP ....
Rifle left to me by my Grandfather and need some info....
Only reason im posting is because i cant sort through the different information between the original and the commemorative?!?!?
Done my research, but want several opinions......

Talking about wall hangers... I want to get a replica muzzle loader like a Kentucky long rifle and engrave down the length of it,

OP, our resident expert on almost everything gun related is C3shooter. He'll probably be around shortly, I suspect he actually looks for threads like this just for the challenge of identifying obscure guns and/or full details of "original vs commemorative" type questions like you asked.
A good variety of up close, high quality pictures will likely help immensely.

POSSIBLY a Winchester Centennial '66 Commemerative. Better close up pics, and the MARKINGS would help a lot. If so, made in 1966 (100,478 made), value in EXCELLENT about $550-$600. These were made to mark the 100th anniversary of Winchester. There ARE other companies that made lookalikes.

Its a model 1894 38/55 commemorative.... MINT. Never been fired and have the original box of shells. I just wanna know how it matches up to the original 1894

Values run about the same as the 66, depending on WHICH commemorative it is- they did a ton of them, only a few have really high values. Except for the plating and higher polish, it is about the same rifle as the 1894. PS- values on the Commem's IS for a mint condition rifle- if it has been shot to any degree, it is another shooter (for most). Pretty, tho.
