How about installing a new HD and put the current on in an external drive?
Although you may not be able to get to all files, you should be able to get to some.

There are ways to retrieve that pass using other means. But it will require a lot of funky typing.
The sticky keys method

Repair Disc method

Oh there's nothing on it I want. And the likelihood that she put my name b day and social on it are slim to none.

The chances that an average Louisiana redneck with a gun would look for such stuff when he's more likely browsing porn...

I fell I would be safe. But.... Still want to look and make sure.

Trip if you just looking to wipe it clean and start fresh / new password . when it starts up you should be tapping the F8 key , it should give you a option to reformat the computer , however you will lose anything that was on it. it will take around 40 minutes

Ok, I should specify...
The only thing I have is the computer. No discs or flash drives. I can get one, but I'd rather not.

Is there no hack like XP has? I'm not very tech literate, and even I can hack into XP from safe mode.

It won't even let me do that without the password

I'm really thinking I'm going to end up having to use a third party program.

I hate how Microsoft doesn't even give you a disc with a new computer anymore. I'd already be done

Go back to Toshiba and explain that you need the original recovery disks.

If you explain everything, then maybe they'll help.

Promise them an "Atta Boy" on this site, or a "raspberry" if they are unwilling to help.

Junkie- I have my sure fire means of erasing a hard drive. It involves the AC electromagnet on the crane at the scrapyard, a shredder, and the smelting furnace.

Drastic, but secure.
