Default My six month old project.!

I have tried four times before to forge a bladed weapon and failed each time.
Many hours of research and hours . I think I finally have something here worth showing. YEAP , I think I finally have something .

All I have left todo is sculpt the handle and I,m done . It is a mild mix of carbon and cold rolled steel and it seems like a fine blade . Two days , and I,ll post a pic.

Be kind for it is the forth attempt and many years of trying and I think it is a fine weapon . You be the judge .

It is all hand hammered , polished and designed by me . Weeee Haaaa....!

The handle is a bit tricky , laminated black walnut ,white oak and will be oval shaped soot will take some time . The handle must be fitting to all the hard work
I spent on the blade . Two more days .

Let it be known . I was a custom machinist for years and do know a little about metallurgy . My fist attempt looked like a banana. My second attempt , a pretzel
And it cracked . Third time , I cheated and asked for help from a good friend that
Is a pro at this stuff and he made the billet mix for me . Just could not get enough heat to manipulate billet , had to add oxygen , could not make nothing but bad , bad hunk of high quality mess .

Finally , after steeling many trade secrets from my good friend , I learned much.
I have a cool looking hunk of blade . Many , many tricks working with semi molten steel , hot , very , very hot . Looked like a moon walking suit .
Poof , I have what looks some-what like a good quality blade .

No way could I have done this without the advice of my pro friend .

PS , he don,t like me much anymore.... I owe him much..!
