Picked it up today for free. Got it in place on my concrete slab and were ready to smoke some deer sausage when it cools off here in Nov. Just not sure if I can wait the 6.5 weeks for it to be done

Oh boy, the neighbors are gonna love you!
How many times do you think the FD is going to show up before the neighbors figure out what's going on? :D

"His lawn mower shed is on fire again!"

Yeah I will give our dispatch a heads up when I fire it up

Just make sure you use black flue pipe and get that Dogpatch crook in it.:)

Its not made to cook the meat so were going to let it naturally vent its self out the wall to roof holes where they meet . A buddy of mine has done this for 8 yrs and they make the best sausage I have ever had . Its more of a salami type consistency and damn good. They smoke it for 3 days

Oh man, I'll be over for the second batch!
Always wait to see if the first folks survive. :D

That sounds great! I have never smoked meat like that but love the oak wood flavor in a steak or hamburger, I have trouble waiting 3 days. I can wait to see how you do this, give a step by step for us wanting to learn more.;)

My grandfather grew up in the depression and he used an old broken refrigerator for a smoker. He built a fire/smoke pit a couple of feet away and ran the smokestack from the firepit about 6" underground to the bottom of the refrigerator where he cut a hole and piped it in. Pretty freakin' ingenious if you asked me

My grandmother made him put a fence around it to hide it because she didn't want to look like hillbillies. My wife won't even consider the idea fence or not.

My wife wasn't to keen on the idea but the shed was really nice and clean and for free for what I'm using it for so the complaints from her were kept to a minimum. Had I purchased the shed new, it would have never happened
