And if the backup fails? Knives are for cqb. Can't stick a shotgun when someone is 3 inches from you.

Stuff goes wrong. I have been in situations where backups after backup was needed

While I agree with "My home defense knife is a gun", I do like edged weapons. I have picked them up here and there over the years. Here's a random drawers' worth.
