Default Music concerts, festivals in your past..

Just recalling some music events in my past. You could easily see more at just a couple of weekend festivals (6 bands or so). However, I’ve only been to one large festival, Summerfest in Milwaukee ’77. The only headliner that I recall was the Eagles at that event, the rest playing there escape me.

All dates approximate: ( I’m sure there was a few more)

Alice Cooper (2)-Minneapolis ‘70 /Atlanta ‘71
Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids- Minneapolis ‘70
Rod Stewart /Jeff Beck (Faces)/ Deep Purple –Minneapolis ‘70
Emerson Lake and Palmer (3)- Minneapolis ‘73 (2)/Atlanta ‘71
Yes (3)-Atlanta ‘71/ Minneapolis ’73, ‘75 (2)
Foghat- St. Paul ‘74
Ted Nugent- Minneapolis ‘74
Head East- Eau Claire,WI ‘77
Anturo Sandavol- Minneapolis ‘07
Itzhak Perlman – Minneapolis ‘ the 80’s
WAR- Los Angeles ‘03
Willie Nelson/ Bonnie Rait/ Pure Prairie League- Honolulu ‘78
Journey-Honolulu ‘79
Jethro Tull-Seattle ‘77
Johnny & Edgar Winter/ Rick Derringer and the White Trash- Seattle ‘77
Styx- Bloomer, WI ‘75
Robert Plant- Minneapolis ‘01
Eagles- Milwaukee ‘77
Harry Chapin- Honolulu ‘78
Fleetwood Mac- St. Paul ‘12
Kenny Wayne Shepherd /Corey Stevens- Medina, MN ‘12
Mahagony Rush- Minneapolis ‘75
Queen- Minneapolis ‘75
Eddie Money/ REO Speedwagon- Minneapolis ‘98
Tangerine Dream- Minneapolis ‘86
Buddy Guy/ Johnny Lang- Minneapolis ‘08
Pink Floyd- Minneapolis ‘97
Yvonne Elliman- Maui, HI ‘78
Kansas, Minneapolis ‘?
Blue Oyster Cult- Minneapolis ‘75
Ashford & Simpson- Minneapolis (free tickets) the 90’s
Jean Luc Ponty- Minneapolis ‘84
White Witch- Minneapolis ‘71
Alison Krauss, John Haitt, Emmylou Harris, The Chieftains, Del McCoury Band, Martina McBride- All at The Ryman, Nashville '02

…..and I think I saw the Average White Band in Juneau, AK in the seventies, but I can’t be sure

I was at the ozzfest in Columbus 1997 I think. All the bands played, and there was a long wait for issue to come out. Eventually, a roadie or stagehand came out, and said ozzy wasn't gonna play because he lost his voice.

Boos filled the arena (outside arena), fights started in the lawn area, with large chunks of sod being thrown in all directions. A group of hoodlums were at the large vertical wood plank fence, rocking it back and forth. Then a board broke loose, and another. I literally saw someone's foot kick through the fence. That's when we decided to leave.

It took an hour to get out of the parking lot, typical for a concert that big. Occasionally, we could hear groups of people yelling while waiting. No biggie, I thought.

Listening to the radio while driving down the highway, they said the riot was getting ugly. Riot? Then we saw the lights, there must have been 40-50 emergency vehicles travelling toward, I was glad we were going away! They ended up burning the ticket booth, and turning over police cars. -Eeek- Idiots.

Others: type o negative (saw police in riot gear with that one, too.), smashing pumpkins, seven Mary three, social distortion, Ted nugent several times, Edgar winter, set leppard, tonic, lolapalooza a couple times in the mid 90s, red, stained, filter, godsmack, van halen, mettalica
