Muscle Cars, those we have had, and those we wished we could have had!

i love talking about muscle cars. i love the history and the inspiration that went into making them. i love that they are a part of our American culture, just as much as apple pie and baseball.

this thread is two fold in that we can discuss those muscle cars or hot rods we actually had and discuss those we wished we could have had. be they rare or unique.

personally, i have crossed the brand lines several times over the years and like most all muscle cars and factory hot rods, regardless of the name on the emblem. i have owned a few over the years as well as well as being around a great number of them from family and friends.

so lets see what you have to offer the discussion!

The Blazer that I just sold last October. 350, Crane Cam and lifters, Edelbrock Intake, 750 Edelbrock Carb, Accel Distributer, MSD Blaster Coil, Headman Headders, Thrush Turbo II Mufflers, SM465 Muncie Transmission, NP205 Tansfer Case, 10 Bolt Front, 12 Bolt rear, 342 gears. Top Speed...Never got up to it. Did about 120 once. It was still accelerating. 120 in a 32 year old Chevy going around a slight curve is terrifying.

I want to get a 1967 Camero. That was the first year they came out. Why do I want the 1967? Look at my screen name. I do all my own work. No one has worked on any of my cars except me.

When I was in High School my friend had a 1971 Chevelle Malibu. Yes, It had both names on it. That is what I worked on in Auto shop. Great learning experience. I also have had a 1962 Impala, 1966 Chevy Pick up and a 1971 Dodge Step Side. My first car was a 1975 Chevy Vega. I would love to have that car back. I would put a small block in it and do a build like I did on the Blazer.

I also had a car that was a surprise to everyone that sat next to it at a red light. 1971 Dodge Polara. It was a huge boat of a car. It was completely stock. But it came from the factory with a 383. It would lay rubber on the road like nobodies business. Those were the days. We used to cruise Valley Parkway in Escondido California. And the cops were cool about it. I bet there were Saturday nights where there were 1000 cars just parked in the parking lots. We weren't drinking or doing drugs. Just hanging out enjoying our cars. What happened?

I had a '72 Chevelle, plain Jane 2 door with an SS hood, rusty quarter panels, rusty trunk and an anemic 305. It had headers and fat meats in the rear. It sounded pretty BA but was slower than pond water. I wanna get my hands on a small bodied mid to late 60s Ford. Maybe a Comet of Satellite? I love the old Mopars too, like the Coronet with that sexy waist. The Barracudas were groovy too. My brother had a Belvedere. Gawd, what an ugly car that was, lol. I had a 2010 Stang, but I won't say anymore about that since its not a classic. Great thread potential btw...

1982 5 speed Mustang 5.0 GT with T-Tops. Couldn't leave an intersection (red light) at anything less than 60 MPH. Boy was it a surprise when I went to change rubber and found out it was $300.00 per tire.

Glad I don't have it now at today's gas prices (LOL).

I have a '68 Charger in Wisconsin (don't tell JonM).
Green with Green vinyl top and a worked over motor.
Original interior.

It is with my step-father and has won some trophies.

It'll come home when my step-father's "jump-starter" in his chest quits.
