I think some one had a bad hair day at the assembly plant and what you bought may not be the same(Jo's).?

I've seen two exact cars , same engine , same car and one would get it , the other,
a (LEAD-SLED)..? Some thing somewhere was not the same..!

I was told 66.... Could be mistaken. I think it was also it's most popular year. Somewhere around 96,000 sold. Kinda wired cause I always see more of the 68 to 71 at car shows

THE GTO LOGO RAN FROM 1964 - THROUGH - 2006.!

Also different engines , 389 ,400 and 350,s!
Horse Power ranged from 325 - 370 ponies , many variations and back down too 350's could be got as options from 1975 - 1998.!

Biggest switch in carburetors was in "Tir-Power to 4 barrel "Quadra-jet,1967 !

Gotta love the American swager, we all want to be first!

because of GM's popularity, and commonality, most people want to cite them as producing the first muscle car with the GTO.

but, what about the '62 Dart, with a 413 max wedge?

or the chrysler 300 with the big block, cross ram dual carb intake that made 500 ft lbs of torque

or what about the HEMI, first V8 to make 1 hp per cubic inch.

or what about the first OHV motor...I think it was an oldsmobile?

or what about the fords with their flat head V8s used by the shine runners?

or what about....

everyone wants to be the first to be the fastest!
