I'm thinking that whole line , 283 through 327 was not any radical block changes
just subtle tweeks that mattered .

yes it is. the the width of the intake manifold on the others is a hair over 13" wide and the 301 was about 11.5" wide. even the 301 with a turbo was a dog!

most of the changes from the 265 to the 400 were pretty much internal differences. externally the small block Chevy was pretty much the same through out the years.

Yes 326 forgot that one. Tempest and lemans shared this motor. The goat was essentially a tempest with a bigger engine. The birth of the muscle car.

The GTO moniker was an option on the tempest platform when first introduced. What year was the GTO released as it's own model

even the 326 was no slouch! it was a smaller bore hot rod engine. an HO326 was offered in the first year of the Firebird. rated at 280 hp with a four barrel and dual exhaust and higher compression.

You Sir are impressing me ! This is the target I was shooting for from the beginning ! Now I am truly learning and it is a passion.

Only time I get foolish is when it looks like it's dieing , like kicking a dead horse.
Just to keep it alive . I see life and will so politely send apologies to all that may
have been ........P-Oed.....! I see life..!
